During my studies, I learned about cinema. My idea was to make nature documentaries. Since I wanted to understand what I would talk about in my movies, I also studied a degree in marine biology in La Rochelle (France). Now my objective changed a little, instead of dedicating myself to documentary I would like learn science mediation and animation in general. Always mixing science and art, I enjoy travelling, painting, diving and creative things.
Research interests
Some of the research interests of Rachel Lacoste
In the ADSR group, my role is to do video editing to produce short clips linked to the Atlas of Deep-Sea in Azores. I have to watch video footage, mainly from the Drift Cam but also from ROVs and submarines, then I select the relevant parts and I edit them. In these videos, I have to enhance the main species to create a representative view of the diversity variation for each mount. I also take part in the laboratory work, monitoring larvae of a cold water coral (Dentomuricea aff. meteor) and to help with others tasks.
